About Me:
From ripping it up with UGK to running with the Baddest Chick, Trina, Lil Lady is an extravagant new breed of talent that’s blazin’ a trail all her own. Poised as a strong, tough, commercially viable female MC, Lil Lady gracefully takes the mic, ignites her audience and delivers an explosive performance. This millennium rap diva was born in Alton, Illinois, and has navigated her way to the home of Motown. In the early years “Lil Lady” supported her career selling her first CD entitled “Let me be me” from her trunk. Prior to reaching Detroit she connected with platinum selling lyrist’s Billy Cook in Houston, TX to compile her second CD self entitled “Lady” which is currently selling on the internet at sites such as CDBaby, itunes, GreatIndy, Payplay and other digital distribution. Her third CD “Platinum Soul” is set to be released in 2009.

Lil Lady is definitely no stranger to the stage and is in no way camera shy. Her first claim to fame was by way of a bit part in the movie “One fine day” which was shot in Berlin, Germany. This inspired her modeling career; however when given the opportunity to perform, she found her most compelling gift to be vocal.

Lil Lady has shared the mic with the south’s most nationally acclaimed rappers opening for artist such as: Cash Money, BG, Choppa, Franchise Boyz, Ray J, 2 Live Crew, Trick Daddy and Trina, The Yen Yang Twins, Little Jon Eastside Boys, MJG and 8 Ball, and Lil Flip, just to name a few. Though she can hold her own with the rappers she has created an interesting blend of sound with platinum selling lyrist, Billy Cook, singing hooks over her tracks for her “Lady” cd. Lil Lady also accompanied Billy Cook to Hawaii where she delivered a stunning performance with him as an opening act for the Isley Brothers. Lil Lady’s appearances include cameos in multiple documentaries, in-store autograph signings, multiple teen summit performances to include receiving special recognition as a celebrity guest, performer, and judge for the Teen Summit in Pascagoula, MS., modeling and performing for the modeling sensation Faye of Faye’s Fashion in Belton, TX and performing as a brand ambassador for the Seagram’s Gin Live tour in Houston, TX. She has done numerous radio interviews at stations like KIIZ 92.3 FM in Killeen, TX, KAZI 88.7 FM in Austin, TX, KPFT 90.1 FM in Houston, TX and WHPR 88.1 in Highland Park, MI, There, she co-hosting a one hour comedy segment on Fridays from 5:30 – 6:30pm EST entitled TJRhythm laugh out loud, which also streamed across the internet at www.fm881whpr.com from January thru July. Currently she is hosting her own one hour radio segment entitled “Destined for greatness” on Fridays from 7-8pm EST. She also host her own half hour TV segment called “What it do with Platium” as a co-host of “The other viewpoint” with Hodo on WHPR TV33 every other Sunday and streams on the internet at www.tv33whpr.com from 10p – 12a EST. Another highlight in her career includes a July 4th performance in 2006 for Joann Watson, a Detroit city official. Other performances include an appearance at the May 2008 rappers ball in Detroit sponsored by Brian Piccolo and Riverside Entertainment, and as headliner on July 26, 2008 for the “Live in concert” series sponsored by “The other viewpoint productions.” And a stunning performance as the only hip hop act to perform at “The Legends Night Out” award show and concert at Berts Place in Detroit, MI on August 7, 2009, performing in front of legends such as Alisa Meyers, Al Hudson, The Condors, Denise Coffey and others.

Lil Lady has the heart of a lion and believes in the philosophy “If you don’t invest in yourself no one else will.” Her newest creation “Platinum Soul” shows a new level of maturity for this up and coming artist both professionally with a new sound, new vocals and new attitude, and personally to include the addition of the name “Platium”. This rap diva is really on the move.

Big Boi Confirms Def Jam Deal

In July of 2009, OutKast's Big Boi began saying that he wanted to take his Sir Luscious Left Foot solo album to Def Jam, home to L.A. Reid, the record executive responsible for OutKast's discovery and much of their success. Even with various Twitter announcements on spring release dates, it was not until Friday that Big Boi says he officially inked the contract.

"THE INK IS ON THE PAPER!!! "BREAKING NEWS!!!!" It's OFFICIAL! BIG BOI signs SOLO album DEAL with DEF JAM!!! More details to come..." said the Twitter statement.

The announcement came after Big Boi had refuted his summer Def Jam statement, alluding to his Jive Records relationship as "a great situation."

At present, Sir Luscious Left Foot is planned for May release. Big Boi is the latest veteran addition to the label started by Russell Simmons and Rick Rubin, after Shyne.

Max B Granted Appeal For 75 Year Sentence

Yesterday, Max B was granted an appeal for his guilty conviction of a robbery which ended in a fatality. The Harlem rapper, who was sentenced to 75 years in prison, has hired new legal representation according to his manager Jolie O'Shay. "He's gonna try hopefully to go back to trial, or get it a mistrial or get it time served, whatever we can do," she said in an interview with XXL Magazine.

The 2006 robbery, which occurred at a Fort Lee, New Jersey hotel, also involved his then girlfriend, Gina Conway, who was sentenced to 15 years in prison and his stepbrother Kelvin Leerdamn who received a life term plus an additional 35 years.

Prior to being sentenced to prison, Max B had signed a three album deal with Amalgam Digital in 2008 and was slated to release his debut album Vigilante Season which never dropped. He had a successful career through his affiliation with The Diplomats and co-wrote several songs including Jim Jones' "We Fly High".

Max B's manager says that he has high hopes for the appeal.

DX News Bits: Jeezy Loses His "Young", Romeo

While preparing for his fourth studio album Thug Motivation 103, southern rapper Young Jeezy has changed his rap name to simply Jeezy, according to Def Jam’s official site.

“Lose My Mind,” featuring Plies, was recently released as the album’s first single. Jeezy’s Thug Motivation 103 tentatively has a summer release date.

50 Cent Says "Black Magic" Won't Be A Techno Album

50 Cent recently announced plans to record his fifth studio album, which will be titled Black Magic. In a previous interview, he said the music on the upcoming project is inspired by genres he was exposed to while in Europe, and will be "more up-tempo, more Dance." Fif told radio host Tim Westwood that the LP, however, would not turn into an uncharacteristic techno album. The biggest difference, he explained, will be the structure of the music.

"It's still 50 Cent on the record," Fif told Westwood. "I'm using different song formats. I'll write a rap song in the sequence of a different kind of record." When asked exactly what that meant, he said, "R&B records may have eight-bar verses and bridges along with the actual chorus. A traditional Hip Hop record has three sixteen-bar verses. So to write it in a different format instead of writing it the way a traditional rap record is written, it's to experiment with different things. It's still Hip Hop music, still 50 cent content. It's just written in a different way. "

50 said he's already recorded three tracks for the album, although he did not reveal much information about production or possible features.
